In mid-April 2014 a fire devastated an important part of the poorest neighborhoods in the Valparaiso hill. It is estimated that the fire left sixteen people dead, injured more than five hundred, twelve thousand five hundred homeless and left a thousand hectares of vegetation in ashes.
